Moving the Kids in the Middle of a School Year Was Not Easy

There is a lot to do when you move. Everyone knows that. It is not easy to pack up everything and move it to a new place. It is harder to move the people than it is to move the stuff. It was tough on the kids to move in the middle of high school in the middle of a school year. They were not happy, but they were making the best of it. We looked for Manassas VA apartments together in the evenings online. We all had a stake in this. We pretty much let the kids pick the place we were going to live. My wife and I were actually okay with the move. We never completely liked where we had been living, and the chance at a fresh start was exciting to us.

The kids were worried about losing friends they had and going into a new high school environment. They said it would be even tougher going into it in the middle of a school year. However, they had positive experiences from the beginning. The school was a much better school, and they actually made friends the first day. The friends they made actually meet our criteria of what good friends should be. The kids were amazed at all the amenities at the Palisades here in Manassas Park, Virginia. My wife and I like it as it is close to DC where we both work now. We both can get on the VRE at a station that is just a short walk from our apartment.

Our son enjoys the fitness center. He is an aesthetic bodybuilder, and he likes it that he does not have to go far to get to a gym. Our daughter is a long-distance runner, so she enjoys the high-intensity cardio equipment the fitness facility has. My wife and I are still old school joggers. The move was rough, but we are settled in and liking our new place a whole lot.
